A holistically oriented, virtual product development for today's design tasks usually leads to optimization problems that need to be solved efficiently, especially from an industrial point of view. During this session, four exciting contributions will be discussed. Solutions for important challenges such as the collaboration between aircraft and engine manufacturers during the concept phase, the integration of structural criteria for the turbine aerodynamic annulus design phase, an efficient robustness-based multi-objective optimization for Herringbone grooved journal bearings or optimal compressor geometries for the air supply of fuel cells are presented. Partizipation is worthwhile!
