Joint Session: EPC, MMM, AEC
Chairs: Alex Bridges, Todd Low, David Wu
Description: Additive manufacturing technology has advanced greatly over the last decade and this has led to many realized benefits for the aerospace and power generation sectors. The technology has been leveraged to reduce cost, improve component performance, minimize lead time and enable designs not previously possible with traditional manufacturing processes. This panel session will discuss recent advancements in AM technology that have led to improved economics, improve supply chain challenges and help advance society’s goal around climate action. Future challenges with AM regarding lack of materials data, printability of higher strength materials and scalability will also be discussed.
