The tutorial will cover a range of rotordynamic fundamentals including: single degree of freedom introduction, imbalance, stability, bearings and seals, modelling techniques, and API suggestions. The tutorial will also include a description of bearing, seal, and impeller rotordynamic modeling. Rotordynamics ensure machines operate safely. Understanding principles such as natural frequencies, stability, and modelling help designers and operators run machines correctly. The aim of the course is to provide a basic foundation in machine rotordynamics Participants in this tutorial will be able to calculate single degree of freedom natural frequencies, understand and identify common rotordynamic issues such as imbalance and instability. The audience member will understand the basic physical imputs that govern safe rotordynamic machine operation.
