Panel description CO2 reductions are of global concern with a high priority assigned to the electric power and industrial sectors. The Panel will discuss practical and cost-effective opportunities for deploying carbon capture systems for existing and new gas turbine energy facilities. Due to the unique role of high mass flows of air for their power, coupled with high hydrogen gas fuel, gas turbines have low volume concentrations of CO2 at the exhaust. The Panel will address facility design choices, recent industry experience with available gas turbine CCS technologies, new and retrofit projects that are being developed, regulatory objectives and policy on expected CO2 emission rates, and techno-economics for near-term transformation to lower carbon systems.
